Funeral Ceremonies & Life Celebrations

Choosing a Funeral Director

Choosing a Funeral Director is a big decision. A Funeral is an important event in any families lives and it has to be a handled with care and attention. When it comes to the deceased, you are trusting us with one of the most important people in your lives, someone that you love. You are entrusting us to care for them and to provide them dignity and respect. With this in mind, our promise to you has always been that we will look after your loved one, as if they were our family. Your loved one, was our loved one.

We are an independent local family owned and managed business, dedicated the principles, values and benefits of a traditional Funeral Service. Our involvement begins the moment that you contact us, and extends beyond the moment that your loved one is laid to rest. As your Funeral Director, we are here to advise you in making all those arrangements. Please remember that we are here to help in whatever way we can to help you cope and adjust in your time of bereavement.

The funeral service itself will be meticulously planned, with perfect attention to even the smallest details and it will always be treated with humility and respect. As a grieving family, you will be shown care, and given time to make decisions. You will be given support and offered guidance.

If you want to know if we are the right Funeral Directors for your family, then consider looking at these recommendations left by other families that were recently in your position.

Our family is here to help your family when you need us most.

Corona Virus Update

Due to the current Covid 19 Pandemic, we are having to take precautions to protect you, our families. For details on how this will impact a funeral, please click here for details.

At the moment Registering a Death has slightly changed. For the duration of the current emergency these appointments will be by telephone only. The Register Office is currently open Monday to Friday 9am-4.30pm. To book an appointment to register a death please call the registrar on 0300 123 5019. This applies to all East Cheshire council registrars. Please click here for details.

Attending a funeral is now changing. Both Crewe and Macclesfield Crematoriums are still limiting attendees to just 10 family members. However alternative local crematorium can accommodate larger groups while respecting social distancing guidelines. We recommend you call us if you have concerns or questions. Tel 01260 297963.

Four New Services

Our care doesn’t stop on the day of the funeral.  We have recently added 4 new services for you, our clients and friends. These services are all provided after the funeral and we hope go some way to provide some healing and closure following the loss of someone you love. Memorials and personal tributes are very personal and we are really pleased to be able to now offer them.

We know that very often a burial will require either work to an existing headstone, or memorial and in some case maybe even a completely new stone.  We have been working on this a while, but we are now able to offer a full headstone and masonry service.  Click here for details.

Our other new offerings are brought to you to provide a lasting personal memorial to your loved one.  Ashes in glass is a popular range of Jewellery that encapsulated a small amount to the ashes into handcrafted jewellery pieces.  Click here for details.

Our new range of Fingerprint Jewellery is absolutely beautiful.  We take a copy of your loved ones fingerprints, while they are in our care.  We then take that print and have it embossed into a stunning Jewellery piece.  Click here for details.

Environmentally Friendly Eco Funerals - As society is changing people are more environmentally aware and are looking to minimise the carbon footprint of a funeral, without compromising on the look of a tradition funeral. We have a lot of experience with Eco Funerals and have buried people in natural woodland burial grounds.  In our experience it’s a beautiful way to return someone’s remains back to nature from where they came. The planting of a tree instead of a memorial head stone is a fitting end to a woodland funeral.  Click here for details

Who we are

Our Local Congleton Family

The Larvin family name is well known in the Congleton community as our family owned and ran "Hicups" the popular off licence and newsagents that was at the bottom of Antrobus Street. Ian also managed Congleton leisure centre. With over 25 years of collective funeral experience, our family run business is completely independent and not part of a national funeral chain or PLC.

Our extensive experience includes funerals from the Church of England, Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Jehovah's Witness, Church of Latter-day Saints, Quaker, Baptist, Methodist, Salvation Army, Gospel and Evangelist Churches. We have also overseen many Horse Drawn Funerals and Ceremonial Dove Releases.

Celebrating multiple faiths we have conducted funerals on behalf of Traveller, Buddhist, Jewish, Sikh and Hindu communities. We also specialise in Caribbean, West Indian and African funerals. Respecting that not everyone is religious we often celebrate with Humanist and non-religious services.
